Cracker Journal - Introduction

Hello visitor,

Thumbnail Cracker Journal issue Special 3 88x70px the legendary Cracker Journal was the very first Amiga scene related disk magazine available. In the very beginning it got started in German only but due to public demand and increasing popularity it changed quickly over to English.
During January 1988 and May 1992 there have been released in total 28 regular editions and four additional issues, a special Soundtracker contest compilation and three special editons. You can download all issues here in the destinated download section.

Back in the good old days when I was hosting "The Flight Society" at http://www.afl1970.net I did concentrate my activities on the CBM 64 section only. Nevertheless Alpha Flight 1970 has been active on other platforms such as the Commodore Amiga, too, which found no coverage there.

However, I did receive a lot of requests regarding the Amiga section and especially focusing on the famous magazine called Cracker Journal. Paying attention to all those inquiries I have started to organise all existing issues which have been released.

Thanks to the help of the guys at Total Kaos and especially zeg this quest has been solved quickly. But in the meantime, due to a lack of support and time, I have lost the interest in the entire project and decided to take it offline with the result that the Amiga section has been put on ice, too.

When I saw the offer for demoscene hosting @ untergrund.net I got the idea to bring atleast the Cracker Journal archive online. And finally here it is. Some years after it was supposed to go online. Better late than never! ;-)
And perhaps some day the rest of the Amiga section will follow, too. Bringing back the CBM 64 documentary isn't totally out of the focus, too.

Best regards,

RRR
