In order to read Cracker Journal I recommend you using an original Amiga 500/1000/2000 or if you can't get your hands on the real thing WinUAE seems to be a quite good choice to enjoy Amiga productions on Windows PCs, too.
All issues have been personally tested with WinUAE (v 0.8.22 R4) and work with atleast one of those configurations:
- OS 1.3, 1 MB Chip, CPU Type: 68000, Match A500 speed, Chipset Type OCS, Misc Chipset Options: Fast Copper
- OS 2.0, 1 MB Chip, 2 MB Fast, CPU Type: 68000, Match A500 speed, Chipset Type OCS, Misc Chipset Options: Fast Copper
By pressing F12 you can change the configurations and attach disks. For further information regarding WinUAE read the manuals.
How to start .exe files in WinUAE?
Sounds complicated since there is no requester in the GUI but it's no big deal. Simply treat the .exe files just
like disk archives such as .dms or .adf and load them as presented in the screenshot. Plain and simple, isn't
it? ;-)
What packer has been used for the Cracker Journal archives?
The archives have been packed with WinRAR which
offered much better pack results compared with WinZIP.
